The
town of Gotse Delchev is located in South West Bulgaria,
near by the Greek border. It is situated in the wide Gotse
Delchev valley, at the foot of the beautiful Pirin mountains
and the Mesta River valley. Situated 540 m above sea-level,
the climate is trance - Mediterranean. The average annual
temperature is 11,3 Celsius, the average annual rainfall
is 646 m. Its forests consist mainly of broad - chested
and coniferous. The region is reach in water resources:
Mesta River and the smaller Toufcha and Gradska. There are
also two mineral springs in Mosomishte and Banichan.
The
population of the city if Gotse Delchev is about 20 000
people and of the Gotse Delchev Municipality - about 34
000. The economically active population is about 16 000
people.
Determinative
for the economic of the municipality are the branches: wood
industry and woodprocessing, textile and shoe industry,
zippers producing, plastics processing, electronics, machinery
manufacture, constructions an tobaco growing.
The
region has beautiful and pure nature, natural mineral water
springs, a spectacular landscape, proper for winter and
summer recreation and well-preserved historical and architectural
sight - seeing.
