Pottery
is yet another traditional craft in the Gotse Delchev region. The
potters of Nevrokop were well known in far countries. Ablanitsa got
its name from the white clay found in the village - the material for
a wide range of products. Pottery is a miracle made of clay, the roots
of which are hidden deep in the past. A fine art combining different
styles and epochs. Passed over from generation to generation, it is
alive even today. |

If
you look at ceramics, you could easily turn back the time: rough
plates - as if you are sitting at an old fireplace; refined pots
in the shape of a young girl - coming from the ancient Greeks; clay
tubes - a gift from the Romans; and some unique Bulgarian items
- as if taken from nature itself.

The
skillful hands of masters tell clay fairy tales - living fantasies.
Ceramics bring warmth and coziness to the house. Flowers look different
in clay pots. Vases are different too - it seems that a spring is
running down the surface and you can almost hear its song. Or all
of a sudden you can see a young girl - the soft shapes of her body
- a living sculpture. So many shapes, colours and variations that
you can hardly take your eyes off them. That is the real connection
to land - a feeling of uniqueness...
